One Leash. Two Lives. was built with gratitude for the people who taught me what it means to love unconditionally, serve the community, and keep showing up.
My parents gave me a foundation of compassion, generosity, perserverance, and a lifelong love of animals. During some of the most difficult years of my life, when addiction made it hard for me to find my way back to myself, let alone be present with their love, they continued to reach for me, believe in me, and remind me I was worth showing up for. Their influence is woven into the values behind this initiative, and into my belief that connection, purpose, and second chances can change a life.
One Leash. Two Lives. is dedicated to Donald & Mary Blyler Jr. – with love, gratitude, and as a living amends: a commitment to pay forward the second chances they never stopped giving me.
